Chugga Chugga, Chugga Chugga, Choo-choo! All aboard the Multigrain Express!
It’s my day on the Whole Grain Vegan Baking Blogtour, and I’m taking the teeniest, tiniest moment away from uh, week-of Vida Vegan Con-hyperdrive duties, before bed, to share what I’ve made so far from this intriguing, wholesome book. Let’s be honest, there are a lot lot lot of vegan cookbooks out these days (and well, seemingly every few days), but when Tami and Celine put out a book, you take note.
And when they ask you to join a blogtour, you’re so in.
So, I was lucky to receive a complimentary copy of this book (thanks, ladies!), and baking and kneading through it so far has been rather therapeutic during what’s truly my busy season. The idea of finding all these versatile flours in their repertoire here – spelt, rice, buckwheat, pumpernickel, cracked wheat, etc. – may seem a bit daunting (and I’m saying this from the home of Bob’s Red Mill!) but if recipe testing and obsessing over cookbooks has taught me one thing, it’s the joy of having a truly, fabulously stocked kitchen. So, get at it!
With that, I realize I’m a tad sleep-deprived, so I’ll let the photo documentation speak for itself.
Once again, it’s been so dang fun and wholesome.
My Whole Grain Vegan Baking Blogtour follows, and begins with cookies:
1) I didn’t have appropriate bowls to bake in so they were later scooped to live up to their namesake.
2) Soup to come!
With that, it’s go time! Sleep time!
If you’ve been baking from this book, I’d love to know what you think.
